Retreat - Purifying the Mind
Vajrasattva Purification Retreat
2-4 December 2016
Chenrezig Kadampa Buddhist Centre,
93 King Street, Lancaster LA1 1RH
In Modern Buddhism, Geshe Kelsang says, ‘Purification is the supreme method to prevent future suffering and to remove obstacles to our Dharma practice. It makes our actions pure so that we ourselves become pure.’
All our suffering and problems are manifestations of the negative potentials we have placed in our mind through negative actions of our body, speech and mind that we have performed in this life and our countless previous lives.
One of the most powerful methods to remove these negative potentials is meditation and recitation of Vajrasattva, the Buddha of purification. On this retreat, Gen Kelsang Dema will guide us through the practise of Vajrasattva and explain how we can remove from our mind these negativities and obstacles, which are the source of our suffering.
If we rely upon Buddha Vajrasattva and receive his powerful blessings regularly, we can remove our negative tendencies of mind that cause problems to ourself and others, and ripen our potential to have a happier more peaceful mind.

This retreat has come at just the right time for me. My cloudy busy agitated mind that couldn't concentrate on anything has been replaced by a positive delighted mind that feels like anything and everything is possible.
Between the sessions everyone was so friendly & helpful. It really helped me to feel part of the Chenrezig community. I was able to drop-in whenever I was free.
The retreat starts with an Introduction on Fri 2 Dec 7.30-9pm (it is not essential to attend this to participate in retreat sessions but it will help you to set your motivation for engaging in the retreat).
Retreat: Each session includes a short teaching, guided prayers & a period of mantra recitation in silence, & meditation.Retreat sessions are open to all - please drop in to any session.
